For many people life often feels like a never-ending challenge, a series of problems to solve. We may feel as if we are drowning in difficulties every day and struggle to see a way through them.

Worry robs us of sleep and vital energy. We fight with all our might but, despite all our efforts, the sense of conflict remains, always present. We need to understand why it is so hard for us to find our way through.

We need a new way of seeing our reality, because the way we are approaching things – by thinking about them – is clearly not working. If we do not change our way of solving problems, they will continue uncontrolled. Let’s analyse what is really happening within us and how we can solve problems more effectively.

Identification Prevents Problem-Solving

When you face a serious problem, you usually make a big mistake: you forget yourself and get lost in it. You identify so strongly with the difficulty that you become the problem. This prevents you from having the clarity needed for solving problems objectively.

One problem can never solve another problem. If you become immersed in the conflict, the solution moves further away. Your mind becomes a knot of thoughts and fears. In such a state of agitation, it is impossible to see the way out.

Identification is like a blindfold over your eyes. You cling relentlessly to pain and worry. To dissolve problems, you need to separate yourself from the external situation. If you do not detach mentally, you will remain trapped in the problem and the only possible outcome is failure.

The Consequences of Living in Constant Conflict

Living with unresolved problems quickly drains your strength. Your emotional world is full of anguish and fear. You feel peace drifting ever further from your heart. This lack of harmony prevents you from solving problems calmly, and this becomes a vicious circle that impacts on every aspect of your life, because this inner tension does not remain confined inside you. Sooner or later, your inner discomfort and agitation erupts towards others and personal conflict becomes a poison in your life. Without tranquillity, it is impossible to solve problems wisely.

Crises in Relationships and Family

Our home life suffers a lot when we do not know how to solve problems. Sometimes you come home still carrying the weight of work situations. Or, over a simple debt, you end up shouting at your children, and an economic problem then turns into a family argument.

In relationships, especially between couples, the desire to be right creates barriers. Jealousy, mistrust and resentment take root and the lack of harmony destroys love, making living together a living hell.

Failure at Work and in Health

Your work performance declines when your mind is so unsettled. It is difficult to concentrate if you are thinking about debts or arguments. You can make serious mistakes that, even if they do not put your job at risk, have a negative impact on your reputation and work relationships. In this way, not knowing how to solve problems creates more problems.

Your body also carries the weight of all your inner contradictions. Constant stress drains your energy and damages your health. Exhaustion and ill-health make life so much harder and impact every aspect of your life.

Mental Silence to Solve Problems

To solve problems wisely, you need inner peace. A mind that is fighting itself cannot find solutions. You have to stop thinking obsessively about the difficulty you are facing. Mental silence is vital for dissolving problems.

This silence is not achieved by force or sheer willpower. It arises when you really comprehend that worrying is completely useless. If you stop struggling, intuition can help you solve problems. In the stillness of the mind, the intelligence that was previously dormant within you is able to flourish.

Do not try to explain, accept, or deny what is happening to you. Simply observe the facts without identifying with the pain. This state of calm is the secret to solving problems. When the mind becomes silent, the answer appears by itself.

Steps to Solve Problems

The first step in solving problems is to take some time out. Go to a park or listen to very gentle music. Move your thoughts away from the crisis that is robbing your peace. Calmness is the first requirement for dissolving problems.

Next, analyse your inner desires with great honesty and calmness. Sometimes you suffer because you want things to be different. That contradiction prevents you from seeing how to solve problems consciously. You need to discover which desire is causing your conflict. To learn how to do this, read the article: How to Eliminate the Ego and End Suffering.

Practise this exercise of self-observation every day at home: study your own reactions to each difficulty that arises. In this way, you will gain the inner power to solve problems consciously. True freedom is born when the mind enters deep silence.

Peace Is the Path

Life will always put challenges before you that you must face with courage. Do not look for answers outside; look for them within yourself. Only those who conquer their own mind can solve problems successfully. True victory is to maintain peace of mind in the midst of the storm.

Having serenity gives you an advantage over any external difficulty. Remember that your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Learning to solve problems is, in reality, learning how to live better. Always seek stillness so that wisdom may guide your steps.
